Tapio Wirkkala is a symbol of finish design. Although he was a sculptor by profession, he worked in many fields of design; from architecture, industrial design to sculpture. He used very different materials. Glass, ceramics and and silver are yust some of them. He looked for inspiration in Lapland, India, Mexico and the modern citys. He achieved fame and international recognition after the second world war. With his exclusive glass products and objects for mass production he changed finish design forever.
