Eva Klinger-Romhild was born in Berchtesgadnu, where she had
pottery lesson with Rainer von Hoesslin and studied painting at local
art school. In 1964 she graduated from the Art academy in Munchen,
under the guidance of Franz Esk.She specialized in ceramics.
In 1967 she founded her own worshop in Wurzburgu, and in 1970 she
moved to Traunstein where she still lives and works. In the beginning
of her carer she made mostly useful every day objects. After she has
moved to upper Bavaria her work changed. She started to make bowls and
vases that were more and more only decorative pieces.
Her work is constantly between modern and traditional. She respects
rules but she also knows that sometimes she has to break them.
She has won two of the highest awards in Germany for artisans. Her
work can be seen in many international collections.
