You gave me a bouquet of white birches,
Tied with a long light road.
You gave me the sun's shawl
and put it around my shoulders.
You gave me a smile
of eyes half-opened.
I'm sorry, I haven't thanked you
for the birches, for the road and the sun
I only saw your smile
and couldn't say a word.
"A poem by the Slovenian poet Neza Maurer.
The poem was a part of Ms. Gabriela Karba's greeting for 8th March."
